Living the Farm
Located in a traditional forest area, the Old House represents an agricultural property on the hillside overlooking Ribeira da Sertã, at the Zêzere bay.
The house was built in a farm famous about its love stories and mysteries, the strength of the field workers, as well as the sounds of joy of the children that were growing here.
Currently, the Old House maintains a highly visible presence in the village, revealing its authority through the shale walls and its past experience of work and knowledge.
Involved in the forest of the village that was the birthplace of D. Nuno Álvares Pereira (5 km from Cernache do Bom Jardim and 14 km from Sertã), the Old House still enjoys the breeze of Castelo de Bode bay, where in only about 8 km there is the river and water sports activities for you to enjoy.
The Old House is also of vital importance to Quinta do Maio. This is where the origin of the agricultural practice is, a part with the annual olive oil and the vintage (delicate) wine production, and also the fruit collection, the hot bread coming out the ovens, the fresh eggs offered daily by our animals. Also the good times with friends are a must here, and celebrated everyday with meals and snacks, music and fun; by the sunny swimming pool or walking along the paths of the adjacent forest. Mountain biking, canoeing, jogging and donkey rides.
