The purpose of the Site is to provide information about our Rural Tourism unit in Escudeiros – Cernache do Bonjardim, our products and services, answer customer and potential customer questions, and provide online reservations and promotions.
General Terms and Conditions
a) The following terms and conditions cover reservations at CASA VELHA as well as stays on the premises. CASA VELHA is duly licensed to rent accommodation as a Rural Tourism venture, RNET No. 4653, and complies with all fire safety standards.
b) By making a reservation with CASA VELHA, you accept and agree to the terms and conditions set out in the following points and any additional terms and conditions, including Cancellation and Privacy Policies, that may apply to your visit or stay resulting from the use of the accommodation, services provided, and/or products offered (available on-site, online platforms, or provided upon your request).
c) The contract will not be concluded until we have verified the details of your reservation. If we detect any irregularity, we reserve the right to cancel it.
d) CASA VELHA may, without prior notice, change the terms and conditions regarding future sales and prospects.
e) The user is not allowed to assign, sublicense, or transfer in any other way any of their rights under these Terms and Conditions.
f) If any provision contained in these Terms and Conditions is declared invalid by a competent court, the invalidity of that provision shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions included in these Terms and Conditions, which shall remain in full force and effect. The failure of either party to exercise any right or remedy under these Terms and Conditions does not constitute a waiver of that right or remedy.
Check-In and Check-Out
Check-In: from 4:00 PM
Check-Out: Until 11:00 AM
a) We kindly ask that you respect these times, as cleaning and maintenance tasks may not be ready before (in the case of Check-In), and sufficient time is required to prepare everything for the next guests (in the case of Check-Out).
b) CASA VELHA reserves the right to charge an extra night if the check-out time is not respected.
c) The check-out time may be extended, depending on availability and upon prior request made the day before check-out. There may be a cost associated with late check-out, depending on the time of departure.
Reservations and Payments
If you use the Online Booking system provided on this website, the terms and conditions regarding availability, prices, and cancellations apply to each room rate indicated, and you should carefully read the details provided regarding the applicable rate before completing the booking process. Any special requirements must be communicated at the time of booking, although their fulfilment is not guaranteed.
The reservation is confirmed when it is received through our online booking system, via email, or by phone. The full payment of 100% of the total amount must be made to our account within 24 hours.
Cancellation Policy
All reservations must be prepaid in advance.
If, for any reason, you are forced to cancel your stay at CASA VELHA, we will provide a refund according to the table below, depending on the timing of the cancellation. We advise our guests to take out cancellation insurance for the non-refundable amount.

In case of no-show (if the guest does not arrive on the check-in date), CASA VELHA reserves the right to debit 100% of the total value of the stay.
In the case of early departures, the full amount of the stay will be charged.
Pets
Pets are allowed on CASA VELHA premises, but please inform us of the number, type, and size of the animal you intend to bring. Oscar, the friendly dog companion of CASA VELHA, roams freely on the premises. However, upon your request, he can be removed during your stay.
The guest is responsible for any damage caused to CASA VELHA‘s property due to the presence of pets on the premises.
Smoking at CASA VELHA
Smoking is not allowed inside the accommodations. Smoking is only permitted on the private terrace-patios of each accommodation or in designated outdoor areas with paved floors within the estate. It is always recommended to exercise caution regarding fire hazards.
Promotions and Offers
CASA VELHA may provide information on specific services, offers, or promotions on the website. Such services, offers, or promotions are subject to specific terms, conditions, and restrictions presented on the website in association with those services, offers, and promotions.
Promotional Voucher Assignments
CASA VELHA may run contests, award free prizes, and promotions on its website. These will be subject to additional terms and conditions disclosed at the time the contests are conducted.
- The following conditions apply to the use of promotional vouchers:
- The use of any promotional voucher is always subject to availability confirmation.
- CASA VELHA reserves the right to cancel or reject a promotional voucher if it is used fraudulently (particularly by someone other than the voucher holder/beneficiary). The transfer of promotional vouchers to third parties must be communicated via email to [email protected] and is subject to eventual validation.
- Any changes initiated by the customer to the characteristics and/or ownership of a reservation made under a promotional voucher may result in the loss of the benefits/grants provided by the reservation.
- Promotional vouchers are valid only for reservations made through the website.
- In case of cancellation or non-use of a reservation made under a promotional voucher, the customer will not be refunded the reservation amount, nor will its revalidation for a subsequent reservation be guaranteed.
- The use of fraudulent mechanisms to obtain promotional vouchers renders the customer liable under general terms and gives CASA VELHA the right to choose between applying the non-discounted rate or terminating the contract, without prejudice to CASA VELHA‘s right to be compensated for all damages suffered.
- CASA VELHA reserves the right to cancel and/or change promotional vouchers at any time.
Website Usage
The use of the website implies the user’s obligation to be of legal age (minimum age of 18 years) and able to enter binding contracts. The user will be financially responsible for any use of the website made by themselves. The user may only use the website for legitimate reservations or purchases and guarantees that all personal information provided during the reservation process and service registration is correct.

However, if it has been agreed that CASA VELHA may present legal actions against the user in competent courts in any other country, this clause of selecting the competent court for the exclusive benefit of CASA VELHA reserves the right to do so.
